Welcome to the Stonewall Sports KC's Preseason Free Agent and Pickleball Double Mixer! This unique event is designed for competitive play and as a fantastic opportunity for players to socialize, network, and get acquainted with the sport.

Event Overview

We have reserved four courts for the official mixer. This is a individual participation event, meaning you don’t need to form a team beforehand. Instead, you’ll be randomly paired in groups of five to play double matches, offering a chance to team up with and compete against a variety of players. We'd like for you to register, but if you choose to show up, we'll work you in somehow if there's room.

Match Structure

Each match within your group is scored, and these scores will be entered into DUPR. For instance, if we have five players on Court 1 from 1:00-2:00 PM, the matches will be arranged as follows:

• Match 1: Player 1 & Player 2 vs Player 3 & Player 4 (Player 5 sits out)
• Match 2: Player 1 & Player 3 vs Player 2 & Player 5 (Player 4 sits out)
• Match 3: Player 1 & Player 5 vs Player 2 & Player 4 (Player 3 sits out)
• Match 4: Player 1 & Player 4 vs Player 3 & Player 5 (Player 2 sits out)
• Match 5: Player 2 & Player 3 vs Player 4 & Player 5 (Player 1 sits out)

This rotation continues, ensuring each player sits out once, allowing everyone to play as both teammates and opponents across five matches. You will play four matches each hour.

Scoring and Awards

After each match, your total score is tallied. These scores help determine your next group placement, contributing to the competitive spirit of the mixer. Prizes will be awarded to first, second, and third place based on the total points scored in your matches.

Special Court for New and Beginning Players

In addition to the competitive courts, we have an extra fifth court dedicated to a social and networking space. This court is ideal for those new to pickleball or the Stonewall community. It’s a relaxed environment for learning the rules, practicing, and mingling with other free agents. No registration is required for this court – it’s open for anyone to join in!

This event is designed for players to get to know others in the league. Whether you’re a seasoned player or just starting out, this mixer is an excellent opportunity to connect, have fun, and enjoy some pickleball action. Don’t miss out on this unique social gathering – it’s the perfect way to kick off the season with your new team!

If you don’t want to compete in the mixer, come join us on the fifth court to learn and play. No registration is required there.
